WAF Annual Lenten Mission with Sister Maria Francesca Nagel

Sr. Maria Francesco Nagel, AMI, attended to St. Therese Grade School, 2 years at Bishop Luers High School, and graduated from Wayne High School. She made a life changing pilgrimage to Fatima, Portugal in 1977 and new it had to be her life.

On the spot where Our Lady appeared to the Fatima children, she felt called to enter the Religious life. In 1978, one year later, after praying the 54 Day Rosary Novena, she received the grace to enter the Handmaids of Mary Immaculate, at Washington, New Jersey. The charism and mission of the Handmaid is living Mary’s “Fiat” in joyful, humble thanksgiving and spreading True Devotion to Mary by St. Louis de Montfort and the Fatima Message. Sister was assigned to direct the National Blue Army Shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, started the Pilgrim Virgin Programs of Evangelization, and led many pilgrimage retreats to Fatima and Europe with Fr. Robert J. Fox and Fr. Andrew Apostoli, CFR.

The Pro-life movement led her to begin the Pilgrim Virgin Prison ministry and catch a big fish – the conversion of a Mafia Boss and Hitman. She now lives at home taking care of her other while recovering from an illness, and strives to do what she can to continue the mission that God has called her to do.
